Light the world

I am so grateful I got to go home this past week. I missed my cute family a lot. Although I was sick, being surrounded by such joy and light that comes from the people I was with made my soul fill with gratitude. We had fun just making food, going to get drinks, playing games and watching movies. I do miss my family in Utah, but it was a wonderful change of pace for the holiday season.

While I was home I realized how much the people you hangout with matters. They are either going to dim your light or brighten it. I want to make this is priority this year. I am going to show more appreciation to those who impact my life for the better and be more patient with the ones I love. There is so much in life to be joyful about.

Along with this I also wanted to talk about the light the world campaign that the Church puts on. This is my favorite time of year. It is the perfect reminder to me to be more Christlike and share with those who are less fortunate. The light that each of us have is needed in the world right now more than ever. We need to share our light the best we can to each person we interact with. That is our mission here on this Earth, bring people to the gospel and be an example of his love. I find that when I am stressed and having a pity party for myself, that is when it is important to remember what I have and how I could help those around me. I got to go to the Crown Plaza in KC yesterday to go ice skating and that is where they church places their giving vending machine's. I got to donate and share that with my friends who also donated. It was truly such a uplifting moment and exciting moment to share with them a little bit about the gospel and this beautiful campaign.

I want each of you to remember even if you don't feel his light in certain areas of your life, he has not left you in the dark. The light may be dim, but it is up to you to flip that switch on. He leaves it up to us to ask for his light and support and have faith the our Savior is there.
